Encouraging students to aspire to higher education
We are pleased to introduce My Career Match and the benefits it provides
universities in reaching out to young people encouraging them to aspire to
higher education.
The My Career Match University Partnership Program is the first of its kind to
specifically match a student’s strengths and career options to the relevant
courses offered by a university. Over half of all Australian Universities are
now using My Career Match - here are some of the reasons why.
8 great reasons to join the program:
1. Student recruitment – creating a database of future students
By offering high school students a direct and practical addition to career
choice programs, the University connects with prospective students. The program
drives students to the university website, many visiting for the first time, to
enter their details prior to completing their career profile. The University
landing page captures this information for future communication with the
prospective students.

2. Widening participation – equity and diversity
Gaining knowledge and insights into students’ strengths and career aspirations
encourages them to study at your university; raising enrolment levels for
students from low SES and disadvantaged backgrounds into university study.
3. Marketing – promoting your brand as University of choice for higher
education
MyCareerMatch reports are customised for each University. The University logo,
course options and promotional material is added so that each report a student
receives reflects the branding and marketing of that University.

4. Mature age students
More than a career report, MyCareerMatch delivers knowledge about a person’s
strengths and natural gifts and how they can make a difference. It is a very
empowering document that creates self awareness and confidence. Self-knowledge
is highly correlated with success in life and work and ideal for mature age
students looking for guidance and direction.
5. School programs, visits, presentations and engagement
MyCareerMatch fits in perfectly with school engagement strategies, classroom
support, outreach activities and other recruitment programs. Taking only 10
minutes, students can complete their profile from home or school. The report is
emailed immediately as a PDF document with a copy sent to the student’s career
adviser. University staff maintain the back office administration and allocate
schools with codes monitoring their use and interacting with career advisers. My
Career Match compliments other career programs and adds value to the student
experience.
6. Open days, campus tours, career markets and career expos
MyCareerMatch reports are an ideal method of communicating campus tours and open
days to students. Using the back page of the report, Universities can
communicate and deliver their message directly to students.
See example. Campus
tour activity can take on a new dimension with students doing their career
profile reports whilst touring the University. Students can take away with them
a career report that outlines their career and course options your University
provides.
7. Career Services
MyCareerMatch reports are ideal to assist University Career Services with course
changes, career opportunities, job search, and resume content. Each report
contains over 70 career choices that match the undergraduate’s natural talents.
Reports provide valuable resume content to add powerful words and phrases to
make their resume stand out in a competitive job market.
8. Attracting international students
Many Universities are looking to expand their international student numbers and
MyCareerMatch can help you stand out in a competitive market. By using
MyCareerMatch to attract and match students to your university you can increase
international student numbers and ensure they’re matched to the right courses.
